Last Supper Passover
God only gives His Spirit to those
who keep His commandments
The one who belongs listens and responds to Yehovah's words. If you don't listen and respond,
it is because you don't belong to Yehovah." John 8:47

The purpose of life
The purpose of life
The old pickup truck sat idling at the edge of the property, its headlights cutting through the thick, violet twilight settling over the North Texas dirt. The day’s work was done, but neither man had moved to open their door.
Luke rested his arms on the dashboard, looking out over the endless stretch of fence line they had spent the last twelve hours clearing and bracing. "Jack," Luke started, his voice quiet against the low rumble of the engine. "When you strip everything away—the church buildings we left behind, the noise of the world, the constant grind just to keep ahead—what is the actual purpose of all this? What is the purpose of life?"
Jack didn’t answer right away. He turned off the ignition, letting the sudden, massive silence of the country air fill the cab. He reached down to the floorboard, pulled up his scuffed, well-worn water jug, took a slow drink, and wiped his brow with the back of a calloused hand.
"The world spends billions of dollars trying to make that question complicated, Luke," Jack said, his voice calm and anchored. "They write massive books, build corporate ministries, and invent complex philosophies to give people a purpose that feeds human ego. They tell you your purpose is to build an empire, find your inner happiness, or become a great religious influencer. But the Creator didn't leave us in the dark guessing."
Jack leaned back against the seat, looking out through the windshield at the vast Texas sky where the first stars were beginning to pierce the dark.
"The ultimate purpose of life is simple, flat-footed, and total," Jack said. "It’s found right there at the end of Ecclesiastes, after Solomon tried every single earthly pleasure, every piece of wisdom, and every bit of wealth under the sun. He distilled the entire human existence down into one single sentence: 'Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.'"
Luke shifted in his seat, taking in the weight of the verse. "The whole duty."
"The whole thing," Jack nodded. "The Hebrew word there for 'duty' doesn't just mean a job or an obligation. It literally translates to the wholeness of man. It means you aren't even fully human, you aren't fulfilling your design, until you are operating in that alignment. The modern religious system tells people that the purpose of life is to 'get saved' so they can go live however they want, chasing the culture while using grace as a safety net. But they’ve flipped the blueprint upside down."
Jack pointed out toward the dark fields.
"Think about it like a master craftsman building a tool," Jack continued. "If a blacksmith shapes a plowshare, the purpose of that tool isn't to sit in a climate-controlled showroom and look pretty. Its purpose is to be hooked up to the team, bite deep into the hard earth, and cut a straight, true furrow through the dirt. The tool finds its fulfillment in doing exactly what the maker designed it to do. We are the Maker's tools, Luke. He didn't put us here to chase our own breath or follow the traditions of man. He put us here to walk out His instructions in the physical world."
Luke looked down at his own dirt-stained hands, the reality of the words settling in. "So it’s not about finding some hidden, grand destiny. It’s just daily obedience."
"It’s daily, quiet surrender," Jack said softly. "The proud system thinks the purpose of life is to be recognized, to be right, and to be validated by the crowd. And to the proud, God brings the heavy mirror of His law to break their self-reliance. But to the humble—the ones who realize they are just dust apart from Him—He gives the grace and the strength to actually walk out those commandments. The purpose of life is to drop the man-made resume, stop trying to please the world, and let your life be a clean, unmixed reflection of the King's instructions right where your boots hit the ground."
Jack reached over, turned the key, and let the truck's headlights illuminate the dark path home.
"Let's get on back to the house, son. Tomorrow morning, the sun's going to come up on the Master's land, and we've got another day to fulfill our purpose by simply obeying Him."
